Ralpho Township 93rd annual All Home Days Celebration is set again for Labor Day Weekend.  The annual celebration began in the autumn of 1919 to welcome home the World War I troops and has continued throughout the years to honor both veterans from past to present.

Highlights of the weekend include Mini Marathon, AHD Parade, Car Show, Karaoke, Games, Horseshoe Tournament, Crafters, Flower Show, Veterans Display, Free Live Entertainment, Free Admission, Free Parking, and more.

 

 The hours of the Celebration are from 8:00am-10:00pm Saturday and Sunday Sept 1st & 2nd, and 8:00am-9:00pm Monday Sep 3rd.

2012 All Home Day Parade
The 92nd Annual All Home Day Parade starts off the Celebration on Saturday Sep 1st at 11:30am (registration starts at 10:30) starting at the Elysburg Alliance Church parking lot and ending at the Ralpho Township Community Park. The theme of this year's parade is "Down On The Farm." Groups, organizations, businesses, and individuals are all encouraged to participate by registering for this year's parade. Basket Bingo
Back by popular demand is the Basket Bingo scheduled for Sunday, Sep 2nd at 1:30PM. This year’s Bingo features 20 regular games, 4 specials, door prizes, and raffle baskets. Ticket price is $15.00 advance and $20.00 at the door. Tickets are available at Vought’s Equipment Rental 672-2506 or call Barbara Thompson at 672-2787 or Sandy Pensyl at 672-2820. Last chance for advance tickets may be purchased during the breakfast on Saturday September 1st at the Dining Hall.


Horseshoe Tournaments (Team and Individual)
Once again, the Horseshoe Tournaments will be held during this year’s Celebration, Saturday September 1st at 1:00PM (Team) and Monday September 3rd at 1:00PM (individuals). All games will be played to 21 by regulation rules. This competition is open to residents and non-residents, amateur and those more experienced. 

  • Team Competition: Saturday 12-1:00PM is registration for the Team Horseshoe Tournament. The cost is $2.00 per person (per day) and guarantees a minimum of 2 games. Winners will be selected by double elimination. Trophies will be given to First, Second, and Third place teams.
  • Individual Competition: Monday 12-1:00PM is registration for the Individual Horseshoe Tournament. Once again, the cost is $2.00 per person and guarantees a minimum of 2 games. First, Second, Third Place, Top Youth (under 16), and Top Women’s trophy winners will be selected by double elimination.

MEALS:
In addition to many food vendors, there will be meals served in the Dining Hall at the Ralpho Township Community Park during the weekend of the Celebration. On Saturday morning from 8:00am-10:00am a breakfast will be served. This meal is sponsored by the All Home Days Association. Saturday evening features a roast beef and pork dinner in the dining hall from 3:00-5:00pm which will benefit the Elysburg Methodist Church. This dinner will feature roast beef and pork, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, coleslaw, rolls, cake, coffee and iced tea. The price for this meal is $8.00 for adults and kids under 10 $6.00. Tickets will be available at the celebration and can also be purchased by calling Donna Slagle at 672-2772.

On Sunday, there will be a Breakfast in the Dining Hall sponsored by the Ralpho Township Business Association. Monday evening beginning at 4:30pm is the annual chicken BBQ dinner. The cost for this dinner is $8.50 Adults and $5.00 for children under 12.

Entertainment:
On Saturday, back by popular demand are “The New Individuals.” The show times are from 3:00-5:00pm and then from 7:00-9:00pm. On Sunday, the Oak Grove Methodist Church will be presenting a worship and praise service from 11:00am-1:00pm. “Covert Action” once again headlines the Sunday afternoon and evening entertainment schedule with shows from 2:00-4:00pm and then 7:00-9:00pm.

Monday evening will feature Vic Boris in a tribute to those serving and served in the armed forces. This program featuring speakers, music and much more will be from 6:30 through 8:00pm, concluding the 2010 All Home Days Celebration.

Auto Exhibition
The annual Car Show is scheduled for Sunday Sep 2nd from 9:00AM until 1:30PM at the Ralpho Township Community Park. There are 10 classes of vehicles including: Antique, Oldies, Hotrods, Classic Muscle Cars, Modern Muscle Cars, Convertibles, Tuners, Customs, Trucks, and Bikes. Dash Plaques will be given to the first 100 to register on the day of the show. Registration is $10.00 and awards ceremony will be held at 1:30 PM. For more info call Ray Snarski at 672-2917.

Back for 2012: Sumo Wrestling!
Attention spouses, siblings, friends, and rivals, Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm there will be a free sumo wrestling competition. Anyone over the age of 18, in good health, and is not afraid to be seen wearing an oversized diaper, is encouraged to participate in the fun! RELEASE FORM | UNDER 18 RELEASE FORM | SUMO FLYER


Rotary Club’s “Run for Fun” 5K
Registration for this annual race begins at 8am on Monday September 3rd at the Ralpho Township Community Park. The 5K begins at 9am. The awards presentation for the “Run for Fun” 5K is scheduled for 10:30am.
